Jukka Air-Mixer is the largest mass produced ceiling fan in Europe and in Finland.
The cows will enjoy the barn through summer and winter.
The fan rotors come in number of diameters between 4-8 metres. With the help of an electric motor, gear box and frequency transformer the rotor can be rotated anywhere between 0-100 rpm. This is how the 5,6 metre long rotor needs only 400 W power consumption for 50 rpm speed. The air, however, moves 5900 cubic metres per minute. The small power consumption is based on the fine aerodynamics of the blades. You can give the frequency transformer the usual single-gear power 240 V, and the frequency transformer will convert the voltage suitable to fit a three-gear motor. The unit is virtually silent; the faint sound of the device fades into the background noise of the barn. The machine makes a smooth air flow in a large area with circulating the barn air effectively, making temperature stratification impossible. The air flow brings a nice cooling sensation to the animals and their carers during the warm summer season.
Flies and small insects avoid windy places and facilities. The surroundings of milking parlours heat up during summer months and the animals are not happy about going into hot places. When the fan has been installed in a way so that the effect reaches all the way up to the milking parlour, it makes the milking parlour a comfortable place for the cows to go in for milking.Fan in operation at the Mustonen barn.
The sound of the fan does not stand out from the background noise.
